Ambassador Program

Seedlings Tier
Entry-level volunteering with a 6-month commitment. Seedlings are expected to complete 8 hours of volunteer work responsibilities a week. Contact us to know more about becoming a seedling ambassador and what responsibilities are entailed. Seedlings are new or returning volunteers who support day-to-day outreach and resource-building across committees. This tier is designed for learning-by-doing: assisting with tabling and flyer distribution, helping schedule and post content, compiling community resources (e.g., mental health services, food pantries, affordable meals), and contributing simple, practical materials to support the community (like budget-friendly recipes, basic wellness/resource lists, or education/career readiness tips). Seedlings work under guidance, follow established scripts and boundaries (e.g., warm handoffs only, no clinical advice), and begin building consistency through small recurring tasks.

Roots Tier

Intermediary-level volunteering with a 6-month commitment. Roots are expected to complete 12 hours of volunteer work responsibilities a week. Contact us to know more about becoming a Roots Ambassador and what responsibilities are entailed. Roots ambassadors take ownership of recurring outputs and help coordinate others. In this tier, members submit monthly contributions to Rooted, participate in structured outreach shifts, help plan fundraisers and logistics, and produce more developed educational content (e.g., live sessions or videos, renters’ rights presentations, wellness huddles, or skill-building segments). Roots are expected to maintain organized resource tools (like living referral sheets or running lists for housing leads), coordinate community partnerships and donation pick-ups, and begin mentoring Seedlings (typically 1–2), ensuring tasks are completed with dignity, consistency, and clear boundaries.

Olive Branches Tier
Advanced-level volunteering with a 6-month commitment. Olive Branches are expected to complete 16 hours of volunteer work responsibilities a week. Contact us to know more about becoming an Olive Branch Ambassador and what responsibilities are entails. Olive Branches serve as lead ambassadors who strengthen systems, partnerships, and quality across programs. This tier focuses on formalizing and scaling: developing provider partnerships (e.g., rapid-access days), leading refreshers/trainings, auditing programs for alignment (trauma-informed practice, burnout prevention, safety standards), and overseeing higher-impact operations (e.g., pantry/distribution leadership, Hopeful Plates shifts and content calendar, campus/community volunteer pipelines, and coordinated campaigns/movements tied to fundraising and merchandise). Olive Branches also mentor Roots, set standards (checklists, scripts, workflows), and represent the organization in higher-level civic spaces (e.g., town halls) to translate notes into actionable updates for the community.

Committees

Trauma-informed care & Health and Wellness Committee. The purpose of this committee is to ensure Holistically Us, Inc. operates in a trauma-informed, dignity preserving way while expanding access to mental health, wellness supports, and harm-reduction resources for the community.

Political Climate & Housing Committee. The purpose of this committee is to translate changing policy and housing conditions into clear, usable information so people can navigate systems, know their rights, and access opportunities more effectively.

Culinary Affairs Committee. The purpose of this committee is to reduce food insecurity with practical, community-based strategies, helping people access affordable meals, resources, and consistent distributions while building systems that can scale.

Continued Education Committee. The purpose of this committee is to expand opportunity through education, workforce readiness, and creative development, supporting participants from “next steps” planning through practical skill-building and long-term advancement.

The Marketing, Outreach, and Fundraising Committee aims to boost visibility, rally volunteers and fundraising support, and lead community campaigns that keep programs thriving, all while ensuring communication stays respectful, organized, and consistent.
